Obituary of Richard T. Vigeant – Worcester Telegram & Gazette
Richard Thomas Vigeant, 65, died on April 29, 2022 at his home following an illness. Rick was born January 31, 1957 in North Grafton, MA to Norman and Doris (Bourassa) Vigeant. He attended Grafton and Millbury schools and graduated from Millbury High School. He graduated from Worcester State College with a business degree and earned his MBA from Western New England University. He had a long career as an accountant with the US Army Corp of Engineers in Waltham, MA until his retirement several years ago due to illness. For many years he ran RT Accounting and Trading Card Services from his home, providing accounting and tax services to small businesses and individuals, while making many lifelong friends. Rick enjoyed collecting sports cards and memorabilia. He was a Boston sports enthusiast and an avid Bruins hockey fan. He was a passionate supporter of the Worcester Ice Cats, followed by the Sharks and the Railers. As a child, Rick became legally blind and received the gift of sight with corneal transplants at Mass Eye and Ear sponsored by the Grafton (MA) Lions Club who also provided wonderful pre and post support services for his operations for which he and his family were eternally grateful.
Besides his wife Sharon (Saucier) Vigeant, Rick is survived by his sisters Joyce Ogaz and her husband Frank of California and Elaine Marcoux and her husband David of Millbury; brothers Norman and his wife Lynn of Worcester and Paul and his wife Pamela of South Grafton, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Burial and services are private. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Grafton Lions Club or Mass Eye and Ear in Boston.
