Ghana: 500 Sunyani traders trained in accountancy
Sunyani – Traders in Sunyani Municipality have been trained in accountancy to improve their skills and improve their business operations.
Likewise, the day’s training with over 500 participants equipped women with the knowledge to transform their businesses.
It was organized on Sunday by Women In Entrepreneurship-Ghana (WIEG), a group promoting women’s empowerment.
Miss Sylvia Tweneboah-Koduah, President of WIEG, during a media interaction, said the training became necessary after seeing that most women lack the management skills to energize their operations.
He noted that the activity which also touched on good customer relations aimed to strengthen the skills and techniques of beneficiaries, adding that “this can boost the local economy”.
Speaking on the importance of training, Miss Tweneboah-Koduah said, “We provide them with management services to strengthen their skills in their entrepreneurship. So we keep accounts so that they can track progress. “.
Miss Tweneboah-Koduah said that many market women’s investments were wasted because they could not apply good business practices.
“So it was imperative that these traders adopt new strategies depending on their business to keep them going as well as house management to keep them away from impulse,” she said.
She expressed optimism that the workshop would strengthen the skills and techniques needed to grow their business.
Maame Akua Sakyi, a tomato seller, who was among the trainees, said that she did not write down the activities she undertook in transactions that resulted in lost income, and therefore expressed her gratitude to WIEG for his help.
